House Finch

We see these little guys on a regular basis, though they're not as common in our backyard as the American Goldfinches. These House Finches (the red head means this one's a male) love eating the thistle seeds in our finch feeder. Another great photo by Arik.

Grackle

The birds have been literally flocking to our backyard since spring arrived. With Arik's new camera, he's able to catch some amazing shots of them—including the annoying Common Grackle. Big, messy eater. But so pretty when the sunlight catches his iridescent feathers.
